ROLLING OUT: INSTAGRAM REELS ADDED TO ALL REGIONS

After initial beta testing was deemed a success, Instagram has confirmed the roll out of new Reels ads to all regions. Reels, a feature seen to rival TikTok’s short but highly engaging video format, has seen full screen ads appearing between them in selected countries. As with all new ad formats, a test and learn approach will be needed to understand how effective this will be for different verticals. Learn more here

NEW TOYS: GOOGLE ANNOUNCES COLLABORATIVE AD CREATIVE STUDIO

Google has brought to market a new tool combining multiple creative advertising tools, aptly named “Ads Creative Studio”. Within the studio, you’ll find 4 tools. Director mix – a handy tool for the creation of smart brand videos, dynamic display and HTML5 ad creator, audio mixers and dynamic audio tools, as well as a project library. This roll out in theory should make the creation of assets a much quicker, more efficient process for advertisers going forwards. Read more about it here

STRAIGHT UP: GOOGLE MY BUSINESS SIMPLIFIED FURTHER FOR BUSINESS OWNERS

Google’s latest changes mean that it’s never been easier to edit business information and keep it up to day on Google My Business listings. Owners can now edit details such as opening hours and contact information directly from search, as well as creating posts and updates. With such a simplified process, there’s little reason to miss out on posting out your latest offers and updates straight from your profile. Read more about it here

TWO’S YOUR LOT: GOOGLE CUT RICH SNIPPETS TO A MAXIMUM OF TWO

Google continues its SERPs housekeeping, now limiting its rich snippet results to a maximum of 2. This means seeing less FAQs whilst searching going forward. This roll out appears to have occurred first in the US, before being gradually rolled out to other territories and regions. Learn more about it here
