Location: Leeds (hybrid working)
Type: Full-time
Help shape the future of organic search at Boutique.
We’re looking for an SEO Manager to join our growing Digital team and help develop our approach to organic and AI-driven search.
We’re open-minded about the experience and background someone brings to the role. What’s most important is having the knowledge, strategic thinking and confidence to take ownership of SEO performance and make a meaningful contribution to our clients.
Search is changing quickly. AI is reshaping how people discover brands, and the relationship between SEO, content, PR and brand authority is becoming increasingly important.
We’re looking for someone who understands that bigger picture. Someone who combines strong SEO knowledge with commercial thinking, enjoys solving problems and can turn insight into clear, actionable strategies.
You’ll work with a varied portfolio of clients, alongside specialists in Digital, Media, PR and Social, with the opportunity to bring fresh thinking to our SEO offering.
Whether you’re looking for a fresh challenge or the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, we’re interested in what you can bring to Boutique.
The role
You’ll play an important role in developing and delivering SEO strategies that make a measurable difference to our clients.
From technical SEO and content strategy to emerging opportunities in AI-driven search, you’ll help identify where brands can improve their visibility and turn those opportunities into practical plans.
You’ll have the autonomy to take ownership of your work, the support of an experienced Digital team and plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and expertise.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys the strategic side of SEO but is equally comfortable getting into the detail and making things happen.
What you’ll be doing
SEO strategy and performance
- Develop and deliver SEO strategies aligned with client objectives and commercial outcomes.
- Research search demand, audiences, competitors and customer journeys to uncover growth opportunities.
- Turn findings into clear, prioritised recommendations and actionable roadmaps.
- Analyse performance using data from Google Search Console, GA4 and other platforms, identifying what’s working and where improvements can be made.
- Look beyond rankings and traffic to understand how organic search contributes to leads, revenue and wider business growth.
- Take ownership of performance, reviewing results and adapting strategies as opportunities evolve.
Technical SEO
- Undertake technical SEO audits, identifying opportunities across crawling, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, structured data and website performance.
- Make practical, prioritised recommendations that clients and developers can confidently act upon.
- Work collaboratively to implement improvements and assess their impact.
- Understand how technical SEO, content and user experience work together to improve visibility and performance.
- Help ensure technical recommendations are clear, commercially relevant and actionable.
AI search and emerging opportunities
- Help develop our approach to AI-powered search and discovery, including Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.
- Explore how content, technical SEO, brand authority and third-party visibility influence how brands are discovered across search platforms.
- Stay informed about developments in LLM visibility, GEO and AEO, understanding what they mean in practice for our clients.
- Identify opportunities to evolve our strategies, tools and measurement approaches as search continues to change.
- Explore how AI and automation can support research, analysis, reporting and more effective ways of working.
Content, authority and integrated thinking
- Develop content strategies informed by audience needs, search intent and commercial opportunities.
- Work closely with our PR team to identify opportunities to strengthen brand visibility, authority and relevant coverage.
- Understand the role of digital PR, content and third-party mentions in supporting traditional and AI-driven search visibility.
- Collaborate with paid media and wider teams to understand how SEO contributes to the overall customer journey.
- Bring ideas to the table that connect different disciplines and deliver better results for clients.
Client relationships and communication
- Build strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted adviser on SEO.
- Present findings, strategies and recommendations in a clear and confident way.
- Explain the thinking behind your recommendations, using data and evidence to support your approach.
- Lead constructive conversations around performance, opportunities and priorities.
- Work with clients to agree priorities, communicate progress and help turn recommendations into action.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and helping clients move forward.
Team and agency development
- Share knowledge and ideas with colleagues, contributing to the continued development of our SEO expertise.
- Help improve our processes, tools, reporting and ways of working.
- Support new business opportunities through research, audits, proposals and pitches.
- Collaborate with specialists across the agency to develop integrated strategies.
- Play a part in shaping how Boutique approaches SEO and AI-driven search.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have a solid background in SEO, ideally within an agency, and experience delivering work across a range of clients or websites.
We’re interested in people who have developed strong SEO expertise, can think strategically and are comfortable taking ownership of their recommendations and results.
We’d love to meet someone who brings:
- Strong SEO foundations: A good understanding of technical SEO, content strategy, search intent and the factors that influence organic visibility.
- Strategic thinking: The ability to look at data, identify opportunities and develop a clear plan for improving performance.
- Commercial awareness: An understanding of how SEO contributes to business objectives, not just rankings and traffic.
- Confidence and communication: Someone who can clearly explain their thinking, present recommendations and use evidence to guide decisions.
- A proactive mindset: Someone who enjoys taking initiative, identifying opportunities and turning ideas into action.
- Curiosity about AI and search: A genuine interest in how LLMs and AI-powered search are changing brand discovery, with an understanding of the opportunities these changes create.
- Problem-solving ability: Someone who enjoys investigating challenges, questioning assumptions and finding practical solutions.
- Collaboration: Someone who enjoys working with others, sharing knowledge and recognising the value of different marketing disciplines.
- A desire to develop: Someone motivated to keep learning, improving and contributing to the wider team’s success.
You’ll be comfortable using tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs, with experience interpreting data and translating findings into useful recommendations.
Experience with AI visibility platforms, Looker Studio, reporting automation or wider digital marketing would be a bonus.
You don’t need to tick every box. We’re interested in your experience, your approach to solving problems and the potential you bring to the role.

We’re big believers in giving people the opportunity to make a difference, encouraging new ideas and creating an environment where talented people can do their best work.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence our approach to organic search and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of our Digital offering.
