Meet the Power Duo: Ant & Abby Join Our Team!
As the season shifts, so does our dynamic team, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! We’re excited to introduce two talented additions who’ve recently hopped on board. Meet Ant, our savvy Digital Director with a flair for all things online, and Abby, the PR Director with the golden touch when it comes to communications and public relations. As we welcome them, we thought, what better way than with a candid Q&A…
What’s your favourite film of all time?
Ant: Back the future. Must have seen it hundreds of times and yet can still watch it
Abby: It changes with the seasons but my ultimate comfort film is Breakfast at Tiffany’s (or anything with Audrey in it!)
How would you describe Boutique in one word?
Ant: Vibrant. I was looking for a word that describes the culture and vibrant is definitely the word to use. The place is full of energy for each other and also for our clients.
Abby: Buzzing
If you ran away to the circus what would be your skill?
Ant: I can just about juggle so I’ll go for that
Abby: Dancing, I was a competitive dancer until my late teens until injuries forced me to stop. BUT, I’ve recently started again in the last year by going to classes at the amazing Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Chapeltown, Leeds.
What’s the top 3 things you are looking forward to making your mark on at Boutique?
Ant:
- Elevating our client experience by integrating cutting-edge digital solutions and innovative strategies. The digital world is ever evolving, and it’s important that Boutique stays ahead of the curve.
- One of my top priorities is investing in our team’s professional growth. I want to ensure the team are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in their respective channels as well as wider digital landscape. Doing this will enhance the value we bring to our clients but and also foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within Boutique.
- Helping to streamline operations and processes. There’s always efficiencies to be had within any agency and looking forward to using my experience to help with this and in doing so allow the teams to spend more time adding value to our clients.
Abby:
- Unifying our proposition for PR & influencers
- Integrating with our amazing multi-discipline teams
- Shouting about our incredible earned media results with some industry awards
Who is your ultimate dinner party guest?
Ant: Ricky Gervais
Abby: Freddie Mercury
And of course, what’s your favourite sandwich filling?
Ant: I’d say coronation chicken if I’m being fancy, cheese and pickle is more often my go to
Abby: Love a crisp butty. When I’m under the weather I ‘double cheese’ it with some Walkers Cheese & Onion and sliced strong cheddar
Cocktail of choice?
Ant: Old fashioned…or bloody mary – depends on the time of day!
Abby: Spicy Margarita
If you had a magic button on your desk to bring you whatever you wanted, what would it summon?
Ant: Coffee. However if the magic button also mean you didn’t put on weight I’d say biscuits/cakes/chocolate
Abby: Puppies, cuteness on demand and puppy cuddles
Which bucket list item do you most want to check off this year?
Ant: Read a couple of books each month to expand my knowledge. I have a good 45 min commute to and from work so should have time.
Abby: Actually practicing golf on the course and not just hiding at the driving range (because I’m new at it … and terrible!)
What’s something that always gives you child-like joy?
Ant: Going out for dinner or going to the pub. It’s the ultimate destress for me and love to just relax with a drink and good food. That or being in charge of ordering takeaway as it means I can order more than we need.
Abby: Christmas, it’s my favourite time of the year and I love all things sparkly so I get pretty into it
What’s your biggest career achievement to date?
Ant: I don’t really have a specific one in mind. I’d say my whole career journey to date is an achievement. Starting in SEO as a graduate consultant back in 2008 when SEO was all smoke and mirrors through to now heading up the digital team that is agnostic of any channel. I’ve always wanted to learn more, and I’ve soaked up a lot of knowledge from some amazing colleagues over the years which has helped me to get to where I am now. There’s still so much more to achieve though.
Abby: That’s a tough one! I’ve honestly been really lucky to have worked on some amazing clients and campaigns but I think my biggest personal achievement has been the work I’ve done for animal conservation projects. I’ve had the pleasure of working up close with baby rhinos at a UK safari park, captured content with Asian elephants in Sri Lanka and more recently worked with an animal rescue charity in Leeds for a pet insurance client – which resulted in one of their longest standing residents getting adopted.
What qualities do you most admire in a client?
Ant: I admire clients who are open to collaboration and bring a clear vision of their goals to the table. A client who trusts our expertise but is also eager to be an active participant in getting to where they want to be.
Abby: Honesty, ambition and pride
What’s been the best piece of career advice you have been given?
Ant: The best piece of career advice I’ve received is, ‘Always be learning.’ In the ever-evolving landscape of digital marketing, resting on past laurels is not an option.
Abby: Listen to understand and not to reply
