Client delight starts with having the best people. We hand pick every member of our team, focus on personal development, encourage an entrepreneurial approach to account management and build friendships. Most importantly, we drive brilliance from our team and that means astonishing results.
Collectively we are ambitious, proud and hardworking. We laugh, drink, play games and celebrate together.
Take a peek behind the curtain and see what it’s really like to work at Boutique…
Whether it’s building press relationships or client links, Sarah’s got it covered. Under the earned media umbrella, Sarah has touchpoints on both traditional and digital PR and has an outrageous eye for detail. As one of our resident wordsmiths, she can make even the dullest of topics sound bloody brilliant!
Away from work Sarah has a habit of crying excessively when she laughs, even if something’s only mildly amusing. She also admits to having once made a feature length version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Don’t judge.
With a doctorate in English Literature and a badass ponytail, you might be surprised at Mike’s position in Boutique’s digital team. But don’t let it fool you; Mike has one of the sharpest minds we’ve come across and is taking the world of SEO in his stride.
Work aside, Mike (a.k.a ‘Magic’) plays the guitar and ukulele, knits “like a boss” and has proudly admitted he would one day love a small army of adorable dogs – if only his rental contract allowed it. He’s also a self-confessed beer nerd with a passion for home brewing which won him an international accolade. Cheers to that!
Simon eats shoots and leaves – and pulses, rice and low fat yoghurt, i.e. no idea what ‘media lunches’ used to be like (the youth of today…). Ambitious, driven and entrepreneurial (you do realise he wrote this himself don’t you?), he is a complete fitness fanatic who regularly takes part in the kind of sporting events the rest of us enjoy from the sofa.
Having started life on the wrong side of the client/agency divide, he quickly saw the error of his ways – i.e. he wanted an easier life – and joined his first agency 15 years ago. Simon is responsible for the day to day operation of the business alongside client strategy meaning he loves a good presentation. And hearing himself speak. Often.
Say hello to our resident cheeky, charming Irishman. His nickname is ‘Rustler’ but we couldn’t possibly elaborate…
When he isn’t glued to his desk working wonders with paid search, he’s flexing his muscles in one of two ways: golf or dance. He would argue the former is his forté, but we all know the score.
During office hours Rory looks after the performance of several paid search accounts and loves nothing more than a complex Excel spreadsheet.
The baby of the team, Charley provides a heady mix of youth and humour. If we’re ever in need of updates on the Kardashian family antics – told with the broadest of Leeds accents – she’s our girl.
With exceptional attention to detail and a thorough approach to the task at hand, Charley’s grasp of the media landscape has developed quickly. She engages with media partners at the point of implementation, ensuring strategies are brought to life via the partnerships we enjoy with them.
Hailing from Teesside, culture vulture Steph has worked at opposite ends of the earth delivering outstanding media campaigns for international clients.
She missed Media Thursdays so much she knew it was time to settle back in Leeds, where she original worked as a media exec many moons ago (before blazing trails in America, New Zealand, Asia and Aus).
Steph has now settled into Boutique life as part of the media and client service team, bringing with her a wealth of network agency broadcast experience.
She could talk to you for days about her international adventures – the only trouble you might have is getting to grips with her hybrid Geordie/Yorkshire/Aussie accent.
‘Nate Dog’ (childish but the name’s stuck), has a contagious smile which rarely leaves his face. Fresh from Leeds University, Nathan joined the team as part of the paid search gang. He spends his time buried in data and reports (he loves it!) and his fastidious attention to detail ensures consistent, brilliant performance. A lifelong Nottingham Forest fan, Nathan still has a season ticket with his mum – and he’s proud to admit it!
Avid baker Sarah arrived from a background in traditional PR, having worked both client-side and in leading agencies, so presented a new dynamic to the business… darlings. Her ability to create overarching strategies, coupled with carefully-considered plans for implementation, means compelling, engaging results for clients.
Having joined to develop our earned media offering, she has ensured the smooth integration of content, SEO and PR into one holistic approach; raising client profiles and delivering brilliant exposure. Sarah also manages the presence of Boutique in the industry and is most likely the one working the room holding the expensive Champagne.
The team’s token Brummie (she managed to drop the accent), Darcie is a lover of all things weird and wonderful. With experience writing for arts and culture blogs, as well as copywriting for corporate clients, she’s got a keen eye for the misuse of apostrophes and the right their/they’re/there.
When she’s not crafting content for clients, she’s probably blogging for her alternative fashion and lifestyle blog, cuddling her cat or eating potato in some form or another.
Self-confessed foodie Emily’s prolific food fair and farmers’ market attendance is such that she now gets recognised. Away from the kitchen she can be found outdoors, wandering lakes and woods with her Golden Retriever Dexter!
Emily joined our traditional media team in 2015 with a wealth of experience in the travel and leisure sectors, so was a natural fit for our client roster. She works across planning and implementation on a range of clients, and is a key liaison with media owners.
With an addiction to stationery and over 10 years’ experience in supporting businesses, Helen is our Queen of Admin. Proudly sitting front of house, Helen is here to keep the troops in check and assist on a whole host of other Boutiqueness.
Aside from her Harrison Ford obsession, Helen loves her four-legged pals Buddy and Muffin – and isn’t one to shy away from long countryside walks to keep them entertained!
Glenn’s digital career has spanned almost a decade, with the most recent stint being E-Commerce Marketing Director of a home furnishings company.
With a head for all-things-digital, he has his feet firmly placed in strategic implementation and has nothing short of a world of experience in making the most out of a client’s business online.
Glenn has joined the growing team of family guys at Boutique and with a wife who spends her days saving lives at Leeds General Infirmary, Glenn knows a thing or two about staying grounded.
A Yorkshire man through-and-through, you’d probably be surprised to know that Glenn has an irrational obsession with VW Beetles…
Such is Alex’s love of Bradford City you might find her wearing her scarf in the office. A lifelong fan, she was even on the payroll of the club in her younger years. Equally passionate about snooker (weird right?) and curry – she’s a true Northern lass.
Having moved from digital marketing to media planning and buying before her inter-agency integration roles, she knows a thing or two about how to get the best out of a client’s budget. Alex heads up client services and operations meaning it’s her job to make sure we deliver astonishingly good work that makes clients fall in love with us.
With a background in recruitment (why did we employ him?) Tom likes to think of himself as The Wolf of Marshall’s Mill. Confidence is not something Tom lacks and his infectious love of life is catching. When he’s not charming anyone who will listen, he can be found at the bottom of a scrum or waxing lyrical about the latest cinema release.
As head of business development, Tom orchestrates incoming business opportunities and manages the transition of clients into the business. An evangelist of all things Boutique, he’s the man to contact for an introduction to the agency.
An initial career in retail is what led to James’s apparent need for organization, tidiness and obsession with clothes.
In his desire for a more rewarding opportunity James moved to Google and progressed to a role helping agencies with growth and pitches so it was a no-brainer to move to an agency role in business development. An exceptional knowledge of all things digital and a strategic mind to boot, he’s the first point of contact for clients looking for help with their digital marketing.
Often piped aboard in the morning (or else he sulks), Steve is an ex-naval officer who served on HMS Sheffield in the Falklands. A true pie-loving northern lad who calls a shovel a spade, he is a tough, honest negotiator with a wealth of experience across all media.
Our resident TV media specialist, Steve worked for some of the North’s leading agencies before moving to Boutique. Under his watchful eye, we are able to ensure effective delivery of campaigns.
Always starting at the gym ‘on Monday’, we’re convinced that one day he will run a half marathon. Until then, he is revelling in his new self-appointed role as pastry police for agency bake-offs because “if it hasn’t been in the oven, it doesn’t count”.
Former legal eagle and organizational freak, Louise is a member of our Client Services team. With a wealth of experience in digital marketing she’s well equipped to assist on our range of digital quandaries. A heritage in digital project management means attention to detail is her thing.
When she’s not wrestling monkeys in South-East Asia, she can often be found frolicking the countryside with her shared horse, Wallace.
Having completed no less than nine marathons (she wants you to know her PB is 3.23) and as a current CrossFit addict, Caroline is a fitness nut…though the constant demand to ‘give her 10’ every time we leave a mess or make an error can be draining.
Caroline has 13 years accounting industry experience and, having worked for Boutique for most of that time, she has a significant input on the strategy and direction of the agency. How she does it alongside being a mum of three and a Neighbours (yes the Australian soap) addict is anybody’s guess…
Mad as a box of frogs, Natalie has the pre-requisite personality traits for a creative type. A Manc in every manner, she has the dialect you’d associate with a 90’s band but possesses far greater intelligence.
As our in-house ‘creative bod’, Nat produces all of our creative content. Particularly au fait with infographics, she loves nothing more than turning some dull data into an eye catching, link-inducing piece of genius.
